“Regarding the communication of the National Anticorruption Directorate requesting the lifting of the parliamentary immunity for Minister Adrian Chesnoiu, we make the following clarifications:
As already announced, Minister Adrian Chesnoiu wants the competent institutions to do the necessary research to eliminate any suspicions regarding his activity. In this regard, Mr. Chesnoiu calls on “all deputies from all parties to vote for the lifting of parliamentary immunity.”
Adrian Chesnoiu also decided to retire from the post of minister and to suspend himself from the Social Democratic Party.
PSD considers that during his entire term as Minister, Mr. Chesnoiu performed his duties professionally and with integrity, being one of the most efficient members of the current government.

Adrian Chesnoiu resigns from the position of Minister of Agriculture and “self-suspends” from PSD
The Minister of Agriculture, Adrian Chesnoiu, suspected by DNA of arranging job competitions in the ministry, announced on Thursday, on Facebook, that he is resigning and “self-suspends” from PSD, but claims that he did not commit any criminal act or corruption and asks Members to vote in favor of lifting his parliamentary immunity so that he can be investigated.
