In October 2019, the plane carrying Jessica Nabongo, a young Ugandan-American, landed in the Seychelles, when she became a member of a very small club of people, the club of those who traveled to every country in the world. Jessica is also the only person of color who has managed to do that.
On this trip, Jessica, who is a travel influencer, was accompanied by 28 people, family members and friends, to mark the most festive moment.
Jessica has flown 450 flights and over one million air miles, but has reached all 195 UN-recognized countries. The experience was tiring, she made over 170 flights a year and says she was close to giving up several times, she told CNN Travel.
Since then, Nabongo has written a book, “The Catch Me If You Can,” which details her country-to-country travel experiences. The stories focus on 100 of the 195 countries he visited.
“I am a geography nerd“Says Nabongo, thus justifying his decision. “In 2017, I decided that I want to do it (to travel to all countries of the world – nn) until I turn 35”, she said.
Jessica Nabongo, who was born in Detroit, launched her book on June 14. He worked for the UN, but quit his job when he went on the big adventure.
She said she was disappointed with Machu Picchu because “it looks exactly like the pictures”, Bali and Morocco did not impress her, but she was fascinated by Yemen, Afghanistan and South Sudan. “There are so many places that people don’t consider valuable from a tourist point of view, but they are absolutely amazing,” she said.
Jessica proudly said that in 40 countries, including North Korea, she was able to travel with her Ugandan passport.
