Indeed, Ed Boon, the development director of this Mortal Kombat 1, returned to the choice of this name, stating that it is the “beginning of a new universe”. He then goes on to state that “this is not a sequel to the story of Mortal Kombat 11, so the characters have completely different roles in this new timeline and we really wanted to punctuate that with our title. »
This famous change of course also results in a major modification in the cover of the game. Usually, it is Scorpion and Sub-Zero who are highlighted, but it is indeed Liu Kang who will be this time here at the center of attention.
