We have to believe that the pillars of DICE have no shortage of ambitions or new ideas when they go independent, since after seeing the Embark studio grow over the years, now a new house is born with the former creative director of Battlefield leading the project.
A new studio to watch closely
It is indeed a new adventure that begins in the world of video games with the announcement of the creation of TTK Games (Time To Kill Games), a brand new game development studio based in Stockholm. This news was revealed by Lars Gustavsson, the iconic former creative director of the Battlefield franchise.
TTK Games, founded by four EA DICE veterans, promises to bring a next-gen online shooter experience. The studio claims to have benefited from substantial funding, combined with complete creative freedom, which will allow them to bring their vision to life.

Having worked for 22 years at DICE, he is known as “Mr. Battlefield” for his major contribution to the famous first-person shooter franchise. Here is what he said about the creation of this new studio:
“For gamers, the phrase ‘Time to Kill’ defines the feel and speed of playing a shooter.
We made it the name of our studio and part of its culture. For us, the phrase ‘TTK’ isn’t just about knowing how to find the perfect speed or instantaneousness in a game – it’s also how human beings have been killing time gaming ever since. thousands of years.
Throughout my career, I’ve created games that encourage teamwork, friendly competition, and the use of wits and reflexes to achieve a goal and defeat the opponent. We are passionate about video games because we believe there is no better way to kill time.”
Joining Gustavsson at TTK Games, Senior Design Director Daniel Berlin also brings considerable experience to the team. After working on games such as Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3, Berlin spent nearly a decade at DICE, where he played a vital role in the development of many Battlefield titles as Lead World Designer and Director of design.
Vidar Nygren, Technical Director of the studio, brings leading technical expertise with his 25 years at DICE. He led the development of the game engine Frostbite, widely used in the video game industry, and served as Chief Technology Officer until his departure to join TTK Games.
Art Director Peter Hoyles, who worked at DICE for 12 years, also joins the TTK Games team. Hoyles played a crucial role in the creation of many games in the Battlefield franchise and served as the art director of the DICE LA studio.
In sum, TTK Games presents itself as a studio to watch closely, promising to offer us thrilling and innovative gaming experiences in the near future. With a team of talented and experienced veterans, the studio promises to deliver a next-gen online shooter experience.
