While Atlas Fallen is still slated for release this summer, Germany’s Ministry of Economics accidentally revealed new DLC even before it was officially announced. The DLC, titled “Atlas Fallen: The Wielder of Gods”, is being developed by Deck13 Interactive GmbH and was to remain secret until French publisher Focus Entertainment decided to make the official announcement.
DLC leaked before the game was even released
It was thanks to a leak in the Ministry of Economy’s grant information that we discovered that Deck13 Interactive was receiving nearly 1.09 million euros to develop this expansion for their action-adventure game Atlas Fallen. This revelation piqued players’ curiosity and sparked a lot of speculation about what the Atlas Fallen: The Wielder of Gods DLC might bring to the gaming universe.
Deck13 Interactive is one of many game companies in Germany that receive financial support from the Ministry of Economics. The ministry recently announced multimillion-euro grants to support game developments from several studios, including Deck13 and Egosoft GmbH.
The Ministry of Economics has set up a subsidy system to encourage and promote the gaming industry in Germany. While supplies last, the ministry financially supports upcoming games from Egosoft and Deck13 through game grants. However, it should be noted that the annual budget of €70 million is limited, and once the funds are exhausted, no new grant applications will be accepted.
The leak revealing the Atlas Fallen: The Wielder of Gods DLC also raises questions about other game projects that have received grants from the Ministry of Economy. Other notable studios include Egosoft GmbH, which received high amounts for its X-24 and X-26 projects, as well as Welevel GmbH, which is developing the survival role-playing game Solid River.
Players will now have to wait for the official announcement from Focus Entertainment and Deck13 Interactive to get more details about Atlas Fallen: The Wielder of Gods and find out what this promising expansion has in store for fans of the game. In the meantime, speculation and excitement will continue to grow within the gaming community, which eagerly awaits to get their hands on this new adventure in the Atlas Fallen universe.
The game is planned for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, and it will be released on August 10, 2023. The studio is already giving us an appointment this summer to discover new gameplay of this ultra-dynamic action-RPG with grandiose environments.
