The head of the WHO has made an earth-shattering announcement regarding a new pandemic. So what is the global alert given by the WHO director. What’s next in the world: Romanians are also targeted.
The head of the WHO scares the world. Humanity could be hit by a pandemic much worse than COVID-19
Humanity should prepare for a pandemic “even more lethal” than the coronavirus that broke out in the winter of 2020, warns the president of the World Health Organization.
Around seven million people have died worldwide from the coronavirus pandemic in the last three years.
Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency
Officially, covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency, even though the virus has been classified as an “active pandemic”.
Thus, Tedros Ghebreyesus, president of the World Health Organization (WHO), warned that global risks remain high.
“The threat of a new pathogen with even higher lethality potential remains real,” said Tedros Ghebreyesus.
The World Health Organization met in Switzerland
The WHO director made the statements in Switzerland, where the annual meeting of the World Health Organization is taking place.
In this context, the WHO calls for the adoption of a “pandemic treaty”, which means a set of much tougher rules and protocols that should be followed to prevent the spread of possible viruses.
Also, the agreement would legally oblige the signatory countries to comply with those announced by the WHO. However, only one such treaty has been signed, and it has nothing to do with pandemics, but regulates tobacco control.
The International Pathogen Monitoring Network was launched
Additionally, at the same event, the World Health Organization launched the International Pathogen Monitoring Network.
This is a program through which the WHO aims to detect situations with high epidemiological risk much faster.
