A 26-year-old woman from Suceava County was detained for 24 hours for theft and driving without a license. The woman stole her boyfriend’s car, and he reported it to 112. After more than 30 hours, the police managed to track down the driver, but also the thief, who was sleeping on the back seat and was under the influence of alcohol, writes The monitor of Suceava.
The call to 112 was made on the night of May 21-22, around 03:20. A man from the Bilca commune claimed that his girlfriend, a 26-year-old woman, had stolen the car from the yard of the house. The police started looking for them, but were unable to find them.
The search resumed on Monday morning. The images captured by the surveillance cameras in the commune caught the young woman behind the wheel, while she was walking through the streets. Later, the law enforcement officers discovered the car within the radius of the commune, in the area of a spring.
Along with the car, the police also found the young woman, who was sleeping on the back seat of the car. The woman was tested with the breathalyzer, which resulted in an alcohol blood level of 0.32 milligrams per liter of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. In addition, following the checks, the law enforcement officers found that she does not have a driver’s license.
For her deed, the young woman was detained for 24 hours for driving without a license and theft for use.
