Credit Suisse posted profits for what could be the last time in its 167-year history, following its emergency sale to UBS. The Swiss lender revealed it suffered net asset outflows of $68.6 billion during its first-quarter collapse.
The closely watched Ifo business climate survey showed a slight improvement in German company sentiment for April, with expectations for the future improving, particularly in manufacturing, although assessments of their current situation were worse.

The giant Philips grew by 14%
Dutch medical technology firm Philips posted growth of up to 14%, reporting better-than-expected sales and profit, but a widening net loss due to restructuring and a provision for litigation. On the other hand, shares of Swedish game company Embracer rose 9% on positive reviews of its latest game Dead Island 2, released on Friday, was well received by users and critics with mixed reactions.
German industrial company Thyssenkrupp slipped to the bottom of the Stoxx 600 index, with shares down 11%. The company announced that its CEO Martina Merz wants to step down, but did not give any reason for the decision.
