News from the Sofia authorities. Politicians estimate that the number of visitors will increase considerably in the 2023 summer season compared to the previous period. This is the reason why Romanians will flock to the Bulgarian coast.
The reason why Romanians will flock to the Bulgarian coast
The Ministry of Tourism in Sofia estimates that, in 2023, Bulgaria will be visited by more than 4.5 million tourists. Most of them will go to the seaside, the bookings being already much higher than in the previous summer season. And it’s no wonder, if we do a brief analysis of the factors that attract tourists to the region.
Bulgaria enjoys beautiful, well-maintained sandy beaches with clear waters that offer tourists a variety of facilities, from sunbeds to seaside bars and restaurants. Compared to other popular spa destinations in Europe, prices are relatively low for accommodation, dining and entertainment.
There is an aspect due to which, in the 2023 summer season, the Bulgarian coast could be stormed by tourists, including Romanians. The political authorities in Sofia have announced that they are preparing an application for the purchase of sunbeds and umbrellas on the seaside. The measure would be introduced starting from June 1.
With the help of the application I mentioned, Romanians – and any other tourists who will arrive in the region – will be able to pay online for the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach.
Umbrellas and sunbeds will be able to be paid for online by tourists
“As far as I know, the app will be similar to those for online booking of stadium or movie tickets. Just like paying for hotel rooms through other types of apps. It will be just as fast, easy and simple to use.
The view that umbrellas and sunbeds will be reserved is wrong. They will be paid directly. The created solution will not offer the possibility of reserving sunbeds, but only their online payment.
We also take into account the fact that tourists are increasingly calculating their budget, and it can be easily tracked online,” said Simeon Tsvetkov, representative of the Association for the Development of Beach Activities Management, for novinite.com.

The prices for sunbeds on the Bulgarian coast have already been set. These vary, as you might expect, depending on the seaside location you choose. The lowest cost is around 1.20 leva, approximately 3 Romanian lei, while the most expensive can reach 15 leva, approximately 37 Romanian lei.
