Why are people convinced that it is a “time traveler” when they look at the 400-year-old painting. The detail that seems broken from reality was even noticed by a mother, but who seems to have some eagle eyes. The detail should convince anyone that it’s all true, time travel is possible.
In a hundreds-year-old painting, a child wears modern-day shoes. He is said to be a time traveler
A mother with a bird of prey eye has spotted what appears to be a pair of modern trainers in a 17th century portrait.
It’s a portrait in the National Gallery that has left art fans baffled after a mother and daughter duo spotted what appears to be evidence of time travel on a canvas.
Who painted the picture?
Thus, a portrait, painted by the Dutch master Ferdinand Bol in the 17th century, shows an eight-year-old boy standing in the foreground holding a glass, which he rests on a table decorated with a red cloth.
The boy can also be seen wearing a black jacket and cape, a white shirt with ruffled sleeves, auburn socks and black boots.
Even so, upon closer inspection, the boots appear to have what looks like a white Nike tick on the side, even though they were painted more than 300 years before the brand’s inception in 1964.
The painting is in the gallery in London
Eagle-eyed Fiona Foskett, 57, spotted the modern shoes during a visit to the London gallery with her daughter Holly, 23.
“I said to my daughter, wait, is she wearing a pair of Nike trainers? Looking at his age, he must have gotten his hands on the first pair of Nike sneakers ever made. Or is he actually a time traveler?” Fiona Foskett said.
Who is the character with modern shoes
It is believed that the boy in the painting may be Frederick Sluysken, the second cousin of the artist’s wife.
“We are delighted that this image has been such a hit with our visitors. It resonated with followers when we published a Tweet asking people to see if they could identify a more modern detail by taking a closer look at the shoes of the eight-year-old boy in the portrait,” said a representative of the art gallery.
iPhone spotted in a 90-year-old painting
This is not the first time that a modern object has been seen in an ancient work of art. Earlier this month, art fanatics spotted what appeared to be an iPhone in a painting from nearly 90 years ago.
