ANM meteorologists have issued a Code Yellow weather warning of torrential rains, gales and hail, targeting 28 counties of the country.
The Yellow Code weather warning is valid between May 25, 12:00, May 25, 23:00.
In the locally mentioned interval, there will be periods of heightened atmospheric instability, which will be manifested by frequent electrical discharges and torrential showers in Oltenia, the hills of Banat, Crișana, in Transylvania, Muntenia, Moldova and Dobrogea.
Hail will fall, and in short periods of time or through accumulation, the amounts of water will be 20…25 l/sq m and isolated over 30…40 l/sq m.
Intensification of the wind, with gusts generally of 50…70 km/h and gales will be signaled especially in the east and southeast of the territory.
Such phenomena will be in restricted areas and in the other regions, according to ANM.
“Atmospheric instability will manifest itself especially in the afternoon and evening, through temporarily increased cloudiness and intervals with showers that will also have a torrential character, electrical discharges, intensification of wind, gales and hail, locally in the mountains, in Transylvania, the hills of Crișana and Banat, in Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea and the south of Moldova and on the rest of the restricted areas. At night, the area of rains will narrow, and they will be signaled in places, with a higher probability in the center, south and east”, announces ANM.
The maximum temperatures will be between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius, and the minimum between 7 and 17 degrees Celsius, slightly lower in the intramontane depressions.
For Friday, May 26, meteorologists announce increased instability, more pronounced in the west, south and partly in the center of the country, as well as in the mountain areas, where especially in the second part of the day and at the beginning of the night there will be temporarily increased cloudiness, showers torrential rains, frequent electrical discharges, wind intensifications (gusts generally of 55-70 km/h) and gales.
Hail will fall, and in short periods of time the amounts of water will be 20-25 l/m2 and isolated over 30-40 l/m2.
In the other regions, such phenomena will be reported in smaller areas. The maximum temperatures will be between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius, with the highest values in the north and northeast, and the minimum between 8 and 17 degrees Celsius.
