A new Italy – Romania flight is to be available for Romanians
Breaking news for Romanians who often go to Italy. A new company comes to replace a run from Romania to this country. It is about Aeroitalia, which introduces a new flight to the Peninsula.
The airline has announced a new direct connection between Comiso (Sicily) and Bucharest-Băneasa airport. The first flight is scheduled for July 8, notes La Sicilia web.
What will the flight schedule be?
The new Comiso-Bucharest route, which was announced by Aeroitalia, will be operated with a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 148 seats, which will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The flights will respect the following schedules:
- departure from Comiso at 12.00, arrival in Bucharest at 15.10;
- departure from Bucharest at 16.00, arrival in Comiso at 17.10.
To inaugurate the launch of the new link, tickets have already gone on sale, with an offer starting at 39.99 euros.
“The launch of the new flight to Bucharest is another good news in the context of the intensification of air connections between Sicily and the main European capitals, but especially for Sicilians who want to visit Romania and for the thousands of Romanian citizens who work in Sicily and who need to return home,” said the president of the Sicily Region, Renato Schifani.

Baneasa Airport has resumed its activity
Bucharest Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Băneasa) reopened on August 1, 2022, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of its inauguration.
According to the Director of the Bucharest Airports Company, George Dorobanțu, the airport located just 8.5 km from the center of the Capital has gone through a program to modernize the airport buildings and equipment in recent years.
Unlike Otopeni Airport where passengers must arrive at least two hours before boarding, in Baneasa it can be even less than an hour, he announced.
