The deputy director of the Ukrainian military intelligence service, General Vadim Skibitsky, revealed. in an interview with the German daily Die Welt, that the “absolute priority” of his services is the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The second on Kiev’s blacklist is the head of the Wagner military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Skibitski said.
The assassination of the Kremlin leader is currently an “absolute priority” of Ukrainian military espionage, Sibitski told the German daily.
“He is at the top of our list”, assured the head of the military espionage network.
He said that the Russian War in Ukraine will only end with the death of the supreme commander of the Russian army, who “coordinates” the Russian offensive and “decides what happens” on the front.
He admitted, however, that Putin is a difficult target, because he is “closed” all the time.
“Eventually, everyone will have to account for their actions”, declared Skibitski.
“Putin realizes that we are getting closer and closer to him, but at the same time he is afraid of being killed by his own people,” Skibitski also told Die Welt, according to News.ro.
A spokesman for the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, when asked about a strengthening of Vladimir Putin’s protection measures, assures that the Russian Security Service (FSB) “knows its job and knows what it’s doing”.
Peskov declares that Sibitsky’s interview is a confirmation of the fact that Russia was right to launch the “special military operation” in Ukraine. 15 months ago.
“The terrorist regime talks about its terrorist aspirations. The special military operation is more than justified, more than necessary and must be carried out by achieving its goals,” said Peskov.
Prigozhin is also a target of Kiev
But Vladimir Putin is not the only one targeted by Kiev. Skibitski announced that Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Russian Wagner paramilitary group, is also a target.
“We are trying to kill him”, he admits.
Vadim Skibitski says, however, that the priority is the assassination of Putin.
“Our priority is to eliminate the commander who orders his men to attack,” he declares.
On the night of May 2 to 3, the Kremlin was targeted in a drone attack, presented by the Russian authorities as an attempt to assassinate Vladimir Putin. Kiev has officially denied any responsibility in this attack.
Moscow pointed the finger at the responsibility of the United States in this drone attack.
But Washington discourages, since the beginning of the conflict, any Ukrainian attack on Russian territory.
