He gave up his career in television 10 years ago, deciding to fulfill his dream of performing in a very special industry. He wanted to reach this point since childhood. In the exclusive interview for Playtech News, he told us why he refused the offers received on television, but also under what conditions he would return to the small screen. Daiana Anghel confessed to us that she enjoys the support of her life partner, who understands her job and that he has never reproached her for giving too much time to this passion from which she makes money.

Playtech News: 10 years ago you made a radical change professionally. You gave up television in favor of the beauty industry. What motivated you?
Daiana Anghel: Theoretically yes, it was a sudden change, but practically it was not a new field for me. I mean, it’s not like I’ve entered totally unknown territory. I was no longer in television, I mean I felt that my path in that career had somehow come to an end, and the moment I no longer enjoy doing something whether we’re talking from a career or a hobby point of view, I consider that it’s good to reorient myself, because the moment you stop enjoying what you’re doing, it becomes a chore.
And it was no longer a pleasure for me at that time and somehow I think I needed all the years of television to give me a lot of knowledge in an area that you also need in the beauty field. All the marketing, branding, personnel – branding and so on. I used a lot, all the experience accumulated in the 10 years of television and integrated it in the beauty field.
Under what conditions would he return to television
In these years, have you received offers to return to the small screen?
A very long time ago, yes. But I think that everyone that I worked with at that time, you know they change, they go from one television to another, or others simply change their field of activity, go into advertising, they know that I have no interest in I’m coming back. I think the last offer was around 2019 and I don’t see it anymore. I don’t know, maybe a beauty format.
How did you arrive at this collaboration with a famous skincare brand?
The idea was theirs and probably because they sensed how much I like these ampoules. I have been using them for a very long time. Please, I have been using their products for over 10 years. I used the ampoules from the beginning, I was the first to receive them all the time before the launch for testing, all the variants, to see which I like the most, to have time to test them all, leisurely and probably this step also came naturally, after all the time I was there with the brand, especially in the new launches of their ampoules.
Did you also travel to Germany to see their labs?
This is the next step. I can’t give you details, because it’s about another project, about which I’m not allowed to say anything yet.
What does your life look like in Brașov? Don’t you miss the adrenaline of the Capital?
Believe me, I have some adrenaline there too, maybe more than I would like. The only difference is that I don’t spend so much time in traffic, that if I have things to do in the city I solve them much faster and I solve them in a much larger number in a day compared to Bucharest, but otherwise my days are quite full because beyond what you see on instagram, which is the routines I do or the advice I give the girls, I have all kinds of projects going on, like, for example, this collaboration with these vials, plus the consulting part on who do it for the retailers I’ve been working with for some time already in the beauty area, of course. And it’s not an easy job, I mean it takes up quite a bit of your time, even though I don’t have to be punctual at a particular office, I have my home office where I might spend more time than I would at an office elsewhere.

What does your husband think about this job, this passion of yours after all?
He supports me, because he also thinks I’m very good at what I do. Beyond the passion is the business part, the consulting business I have with retailers, there is nothing glamorous like it seems on Instagram, there is a lot of talk about statistics, market trends, negotiations, everything is very administrative and very practical. On instagram you can see the more beautiful, more artistic side, where we talk extensively about various topics depending on what the girls are interested in, and Sorin got used to it.
Of course, he has the humor that characterizes him and always somehow manages to pull out a pearl, sometimes I catch him and post what he says on Instagram, but normally he supports me and is by my side. It was never a question of telling me ready or enough or too much, no. We respect each other’s hobbies and passions and I’m lucky that my passion is also my field of activity, so it supports me all the more.
