Although we are fast approaching summer, meteorologists do not bring good news for our country. According to the latest information, a Mediterranean cyclone is heading towards Romania, so the whole country could be put under a code orange for storms and gales. It is not excluded that the weather will be changeable, and what we will have in the first part of the day will not coincide with the meteorological phenomena in the second part. What are the areas where the cyclone has already reached?
The cities in Romania where the bad weather has already been unleashed
Even though there are only a few days left until we enter the summer season, the weather remains capricious in many European countries, including in Romania. After the devastation recorded in Italy, the Mediterranean cyclone will also reach us, with gales, storms and torrential rains expected throughout the country.
For some Romanians, this nightmare has already begun, so that, in Brăila, the bad weather and the flood were unleashed, the drivers being forced to turn to the right to avoid a tragedy. Even in Constanța, the weather does not cooperate with people, so that, for tens of minutes in a row, torrential rains and hail wreaked havoc, which is why people took shelter in houses, and drivers also had to stop because rain curtains.
Hail didn’t spare the people of Prahoven either, so that, in Breaza, large pieces of ice destroyed people’s gardens, right under their helpless eyes.
Also, the city of Căuşeni in Moldova was hit by a flood, and in the absence of sewers, strong floods flooded the streets. In the town of Cimişlia, due to the large amount of hail, people were able to make lumps. Unfortunately, part of the car’s bodywork was damaged.
Areas bypassed by precipitation and storms
The cyclones that have wreaked havoc in Europe are still chained over the Mediterranean, meaning bad weather and storms will continue to affect the entire southern half of Europe heavily. In Romania, the cyclone is expected to be felt in all corners of the country, so that torrential rains, blizzards and hail will hit areas all over Romania, until the end of this week.
In order to avoid any incident, people are asked to stay indoors as much as possible, and if they want to go out, be sure to consult the weather forecast.
“Today the storms were concentrated in most of the country, only the northern and western extremities of Romania were safer. But, from place to place, quantities of water greater than 40 liters per square meter were collected in less than an hour, which is why meteorologists issued even more code orange warnings, at least for Dobrogea and Caraş-Severin county . And the wind created problems in the east and southeast where the gusts can even reach 70 kilometers per hour”, announced Simona Căpșună, Observatory meteorologist.
