However, the film compensates in terms of staging, a banal car chase having the quality to make you not skip 10 seconds, even if, perhaps, you are not necessarily a fan of action films.
Beyond the action, The Mother is an emotional film that showcases the unique relationship between a mother and her child.
Jennifer Lopez plays the role of “the mother”, a character whose name we don’t even learn at the end of the film. She is, quite simply, the mother, but also a seemingly ruthless killer who enters a witness protection program.
And, because it was still about Jennifer Lopez, as never before, the actress manages to integrate perfectly into the character. You almost forget about all the controversies in the artist’s personal life, her music and, ultimately, her.
Lopez isn’t Lopez, she’s The Mother, and in a parallel universe, she may have even won an acting award for it.
