Romanians take to the streets, dissatisfied with the continuous deterioration of the standard of living. After the teachers, it is the turn of the Health employees to voice their grievances. According to a press release from the Health Solidarity Federation, the employees of Health will organize a protest rally in Piaţa Victoriei in the capital on June 8, following which, on July 1, the general strike will be triggered.
Health and CFR employees are preparing for a general strike
Thus, the Health employees will start a Japanese strike on June 6, during which more than 100,000 employees from hospitals and social assistance will wear armbands. This action is only symbolic and the medical activity will not be affected.
On June 15, a large protest will be launched, during which it is estimated that 15,000 people will take to the streets to voice their grievances, writes Antena 3 CNN.
Last but not least, the CFR trade unionists threaten to strike in the middle of the summer season, saying that they will stop work and that no train will run.
On Monday, CFR employees organized a protest meeting in front of the Ministry of Transport and demanded the approval of the revenue and expenditure budget at CFR Călători and CFR Infrastructura and the application of the Railway Staff Statute.
Hundreds of employees from CFR Călători and CFR Infrastructura went to the Ministry of Transport, being dissatisfied with the low salaries, the high volume of work, but also the fact that from one day to the next the working conditions are deteriorating.
The last general strike at the railway took place in December 2021, shortly after Sorin Grindeanu took over the post of Minister of Transport.
