The month of June comes with a series of free days for employees in Romania and, especially, for budget managers. This situation will cause problems for pensioners who are waiting for their pension at the door from the first days of the month, as it happens every time.
June 1st is a public holiday, as is the first day of Pentecost, June 4th. At the same time, budget workers enjoy a full-fledged mini-holiday because they will also have a day off on Friday, June 2. In theory, that day should be recovered at some point, but that detail matters less. It is relevant that the pensions of many Romanians have a high chance of arriving late in June, as the president of the National Public Pension Fund drew attention.
What is happening with Romanians’ pensions?
“We have an agreement concluded with the Romanian National Post Company, where we have very clear terms both regarding the payment of the amounts necessary for the payment of pensions to the National Post Company, as well as the payment of these pensions to our beneficiaries, retirees.
As you well know, starting from the first day of each month, we already start paying pensions to retirees. It really is an exceptional situation generated these days.
I got in touch with the General Director of the Romanian National Post Company, Valentin Ștefan, and he guaranteed me that on June 2, the postal workers will work, so the first day of pension payment is June 2 and after that, we enter from June 6 , we start in the normal calendar provided by the concluded convention, for the payment of pensions”, said Daniel Baciu at the weekend, in an intervention on Antena 3 CNN.
The most advantageous will be the pensioners with pensions received in the account, on the card. They seem to never be late. “These pensions paid to the account are done very quickly, practically they are done electronically and here we have absolutely no delay. In one day, all pensions are paid for the beneficiaries who opted for this payment method”, added the head of the CNPP.
