If not long ago, most TV stations broadcast successful South American series, it seems that the Turks’ recipe has borne fruit, and today we are talking about a series of original series from Turkey also broadcast in Romania. Some series have been adapted by Romanian screenwriters, becoming successful domestic productions, such as those broadcast by Antena 1. But, Happy Channel and AntenaPlay propose a new series, “Bir Peri Masali”, which they say is the Turkish series that will go crazy Romania.
How Turkish series came to overtake South American series
As you know what Turkey produces for television are not soap operas, telenovelas or period dramas, they are known as soap opera. These are a “genre in progress”, with unique narratives, use of space and musical scores and are very, very popular.
Thanks to its international sales and global audience, Turkey is second only to the US in terms of worldwide TV distribution, finding huge audiences in Russia, China, Korea, Latin America and even Romania. Currently, Chile is the largest consumer of soap opera in terms of the number of shows sold, while Mexico, then Argentina, pay the most to buy them.

according to specialists, soap opera are epics of great scope, with each episode usually lasting two hours or more. Advertising time is cheap in Turkey, and the state broadcasting watchdog requires that every 20 minutes of content be interrupted by seven minutes of commercials. Each production has its own original soundtrack and can have up to 50 main characters. They tend to be filmed on location in the heart of historic Istanbul, using studios only when necessary.
