The Ministry of the Interior announces, on Tuesday evening, that, from June 1, the level of Law 153/2017 applies to salaries and wages, and the updating of increases and allowances will take place at the first budget rectification.
„On the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Nicolae Bode, a working meeting took place today, May 30, 2023, at the MAI headquarters, between the leadership of the ministry and representatives of the trade unions within the MAI structures. The discussions were held on two levels, namely the salary component and the one related to the modification of the law on military pensions”, the Ministry of the Interior said in a press release on Tuesday evening.
According to the quoted document, with regard to the salary component, it was agreed that, starting from June 1, 2023, for the balances and salaries of the position, their level will be applied as provided by the Framework Law no. 153/2017 regarding the salary of staff paid from public funds for the year 2022.
“This means that the balances and salaries of the position will be increased to their level provided by law for the year 2022, starting with the salary rights related to the month of June, which are paid in the month of July 2023. Regarding the allowances/increments and the other rights that make up the income salaries of military personnel and policemen within the MAI, it was agreed that they be granted in full, according to the Framework Law no. 153/2017 regarding the salary of staff paid from public funds, to be taken into account in the first budget rectification of this year”, the institution also transmitted.
The law on military pensions was also discussed, a draft law under debate in Parliament, according to News.ro.
“The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the representatives of the unions present at the meeting that it will support all the amendments formulated and assumed by the institutions of the national system of defense, public order and national security, amendments with which the unions of the MAI agree. The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reaffirms its willingness to engage in dialogue with union representatives at the level of the ministry’s structures in order to find solutions that can be applied to solve all the existing problems in the system, from those related to salaries to those related to logistics or working conditions work”, the ministry also transmitted.
