However, edition after edition he proved that he is a strong competitor, an honest and sincere player, managing to win the sympathy of the public in front of the small screen who voted for him massively and who finally gave him the grand prize of the contest.
In the edition of Wednesday, May 31, 2023, Dan Ursa was invited to the set of Cătălin Măruță’s show. When he saw the pictures from the first day of the reality show, he confessed that he is still shocked not only that he returned home with the trophy but also at the huge physical transformation he went through.

“I lost 29 kilos in total. I don’t recognize myself. I entered the competition with 119 kilograms, at home I weighed 88 or so. (…) I went to play, to enjoy the experience. “In the last game I couldn’t anymore, I was holding on to the obstacles so I wouldn’t fall”
Asked how he managed not to get involved in any conflict with his colleagues from the Dominican Republic, he explained that: “I always tried to put myself in the shoes of the character, I found excuses for him: that he is hungry, that he is thirsty. You can’t argue with people who are suffering.”
Ursa revealed that she endured the first few days very well and did not suffer from lack of food, even donating her rations to the warriors. For him, the last few weeks have been the most difficult. Because he had lost 29 kilograms in a very short period of time, only five months, he had ended up feeling completely drained of energy.
“Mentally, I did very well. On the physical side I had problems, in the last part the lack of food was felt. It’s a lot to lose 29 kilos in five months. In the last game, I couldn’t anymore, I was holding on to the obstacles so I wouldn’t fall, my colleagues were shouting at me not to give up, this strengthened me.
The first period was the easiest for me. I used to give my food to my colleagues, I had reserves…until I ran out of energy. At the last test I had no energy at all. But even if Survivor was extended, I was going, I was struggling, but I was going,” said Dan Ursa, on PRO TV.
