Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake was one of the big announcements from the PlayStation Showcase that aired last week. Unveiled via a short teaser, we don’t know much about this cult title from the flagship franchise imagined by Hideo Kojima. Faced with the predominant involvement of the latter in the franchise, many players are wondering if the man is involved in this remake, and who is at the head of the project.
Hideo Kojima is not involved
Asked about the subject, we learn in the columns of IGN that Konami is indeed the “central” role of development, with the support of the Virtuos studio, which has already been involved in the development of past projects.
As for whether Hideo Kojima is also involved, the answer is no. MGS’s dad is not part of the project, and neither is Yoji Shinkawa, character artist original games still working alongside Kojima at Kojima Productions.

However, the development team will work hard to create this remake and the ports (for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection) so that they can be enjoyed on multiple platforms by even more players around the world.
More MGS remakes to come?
Of course, the question gamers are now asking is whether any remakes of other Metal Gear Solid games are currently in the works at Konami. Asked about the subject, the door does not seem closed since the firm replied that it would listen to the players’ request:
Regarding remakes of previous games in the series other than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, we will listen to player demand and take appropriate action.
As a reminder, this remake of MGS 3 is called Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, and will be available on Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and PC. If it does not yet have a release date, the first rumors evoke a planned launch in 2024, and we obviously look forward to knowing more about the project.
