Vacations and weekends spent at the seaside have begun, but many tourists who now arrive at the seaside have an unpleasant experience. One of the most popular resorts in Romania turned into a construction site, in full summer season. Instead of relaxation, people have dust and noise.
A resort in Romania has become a construction site, in full summer season
The ever-higher temperatures in the thermometers lead more and more Romanians to the sea. The number of tourists is on the rise, with people choosing to take advantage of the lower prices for accommodation offered through the “Coast for All” program, which takes place in 2023, during the periods 3 May – 20 June and 1 September – 15 October.
However, tourists do not have the peace and relaxation they dreamed of, as almost the entire city of Constanța has turned into a construction site.
Those who want to reach the northern coast face a nightmare road: clouds of dust, the roar of construction equipment, workers, closed lanes. There are parts of the road where the speed is only 5 kilometers per hour.
Due to the works that are still in full swing on the boulevard leading to the Mamaia resort, traffic is moving in one direction. The City Belt is not a better alternative either.

“Among the construction sites, through the dust, among the constructions anapoda. Nightmare. Exact. Nightmare!”
In Năvodari, one of the favorite resorts of Romanians, the road to the beach is a real challenge. The area is a full-fledged construction site, with tourists having to sneak among machines and constructions made of iron and concrete.
“Among the construction sites, through the dust, among the constructions anapoda. Nightmare. Exact. Nightmare!”, a tourist confessed, according to Observer News.
According to the law, between May 15 and September 15, construction sites should be completely closed. The only exceptions are made in the case of works already in progress, those executed with non-reimbursable external funds, seasonal works, those requiring urgent intervention and works that do not affect the tourist activity.
“In 2022, for non-compliance with the provisions of the law, agents from the Local Police applied almost 100 fines in the amount of over 730,000 lei”, explained Elena Aftene, representative of the Năvodari City Hall, for the quoted source.
