Poland decided to support the Republic of Moldova and sent to Chisinau six planes loaded with weapons, ammunition and equipment intended for the police in this country to deal with destabilization attempts, announced the Polish Minister of the Interior, Mariusz Kamiński.
“I decided to send a huge shipment of weapons, ammunition and equipment for the police of the Republic of Moldova”, the minister said in a post on Twitter, according to polsatnews.pl.
“On the day Prime Minister Morawiecki arrived in Chisinau, six Polish planes with equipment intended to prevent attempts to destabilize the country arrived in Moldova,” he said.
The weapons and ammunition were brought in by two C-130 Hercules aircraft and four CASA C-295M aircraft.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was part of the dozens of dignitaries who participated in the summit of the European Political Community in the Republic of Moldova.
“The independent and sovereign Republic of Moldova, which resists attempts at internal destabilization, needs our support. That’s why I decided to send the Moldovan police this huge shipment of weapons, ammunition and equipment from the services subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior”, Mariusz also wrote Kamiński.
He added that on Wednesday, the Polish authorities put the pro-Russian politician Ilan Sor, on whose name there is also an arrest warrant, on the list of sanctioned persons.
At the summit of the European Political Community, the Prime Minister of Poland said that his country will support the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU through an “accelerated procedure”.
He added that the same thing must happen when it comes to the accession to NATO of the Republic of Moldova, which he described as a small country, “but which we admire for its resistance to Russia”.
