The case of Luiza Melencu. The torments she went through before she was killed and cremated
On April 14, 2019, around 11:30 a.m., the 18-year-old was waiting “for the opportunity” in Caracal, in the place called “the Widow’s”. A car stopped and offered to pick her up, and the girl, not knowing what was to come, climbed into the right rear seat.
“In order to strengthen the victim’s conviction regarding the reality of what was claimed, the defendant drove with her to the entrance to Dioști commune where he stopped and, using physical and verbal violence, immobilized the victim, tying her with the belt from his pants, from the seat belt of the back seat”, says the DIICOT press release.
The young woman, kidnapped and physically assaulted, cried in vain for help from the car in which she was being held captive. Gheorghe Dincă also took his phone, which, according to the investigators, he threw on the go, on the car window.
“Subsequently, the defendant transported the victim by car to his home in the municipality of Caracal, Olt county, by kidnapping, against the will of the victim, who objected and cried for help, as she was unable to get out of the car because she was tied to the seat, and the doors and windows could not be opened from the inside as a result of the modifications made by the defendant. While driving the car, the defendant threw the victim’s mobile phone into the vegetation on the side of the E 70 national road,” the data from folder.
For 3 days, Luiza was held hostage in Gheorghe Dincă’s house in Caracal. Prosecutors describe in lavish detail the tortures to which the young woman was subjected before she was killed and cremated.
“The defendant sheltered the victim between 14 and 17.04.2019 (in his home in the municipality of Caracal, OLT county) through coercion, manifested through physical and verbal violence, keeping her permanently immobilized to the bed with a metal chain, blindfolded with adhesive tape , and on the hands and feet with string/adhesive tape, for the purpose of sexual exploitation in their own interest, a fact which, according to the law, constitutes the constitutive content of the crime of ‘trafficking in persons'”, the prosecutors say.
According to the data from the file, during the 3 days, Luiza was raped repeatedly, and a second man, Ştefan Risipiţeanu, was later sentenced to 12 years for rape, took part in one of the sexual assaults.
“In R.Ș.’s charge it was noted that, on 14.04.2019, around 12:00, he unexpectedly arrived at the home of the defendant DG in the municipality of Caracal, Olt county, on which occasion he surprised him while entering with the car in the courtyard of the house and observed the MLM major victim seized in the car In these circumstances the defendant R.Ş. asked him to allow him to have sexual relations with the victim, and, as a result of the agreement later expressed by the defendant DG, during the same day, through coercion, manifested through physical and verbal violence, he maintained relations with the victim of MLM”, the DIICOT press release states.
On April 17, 2019, as a result of Luiza’s refusal to be the victim of repeated rapes, Gheorghe Dincă beat her to death.
“The defendant GD intentionally inflicted multiple strong blows with his fists on the MLM victim, targeting vital areas of the body, namely the head and chest, while she was immobilized (tied to the bed), blows that led to her death” , say the investigators.
To hide his actions, the man “burned her body in a metal barrel that he had in the yard of his home. The ashes, bone fragments and other remains resulting from the incineration process were transported and abandoned in the vegetation, most likely on 18.04.2019, in the forest edge located on the land of the Caracal Agricultural Research and Development Station”, reports DIICOT.
The case of Alexandra Măceşanu. The call to 112 that could have saved his life
Three months later, Gheorghe Dincă became the executioner of another young woman. Following the same scenario, the man stopped taking “on occasion” another teenage girl, Alexandra Măceşanu.
“On 24.07.2019, around 10:00-10:15, while he was within the range of Dobrosloveni commune, Olt county, the defendant DG observed the MMA victim, aged 15, and by induction in error, and later by kidnapping and coercion, manifested through physical and verbal violence, he recruited her, using a false pretext, in the sense that he offered to transport her in his own car, “on occasion”, to the Mihai Viteazul high school in Caracal” , say the prosecutors.
In the area of the high school, Gheorghe Dincă stopped the car, but instead of letting the young woman get out, he immobilized her and tied her with the belt from his pants to the seat belt of the back seat, just like in Luiza’s case.
“The defendant transported the victim, by car, to his home in Caracal municipality, Olt county (by kidnapping, against the will of the victim who objected and cried for help), she being unable to get off because she was tied to the back seat, and the doors and windows could not be opened from the inside as a result of the changes made by the defendant. On the way, he threw the victim’s phone in the area of Strandului street in the municipality of Caracal,” the data in the file show.
For two days, the 15-year-old girl was subjected to unimaginable torture: tied, beaten and repeatedly raped.
“On July 24 and 25, 2019, the defendant sheltered the victim, through coercion, manifested through physical and verbal violence, in his home, keeping her immobilized to the bed with a chain, blindfolded with adhesive tape, and her hands and legs with string/adhesive tape for the purpose of sexual exploitation in their own interest, a fact which, according to the law, constitutes the constitutive content of the crime of “trafficking minors”, reports DIICOT.
In order to induce them the idea that the teenager had voluntarily left the country, Gheorghe Dincă spoke on the phone, on July 25, 2019, with Alexandra’s family. Prosecutors describe in detail what happened on that tragic day Thursday.
“Following the investigations carried out in the case, it was established that, on 25.07.2019, around 12:00, after phoning the family of the minor victim, in order to induce the idea that she voluntarily left the territory of Romania, the defendant returned to his home , where the MMA victim was being held, noting that she was able to untie the chain that bound her to the bed, remove the tape from her eyes (without being able to free herself from the thick rope at her feet), and that she was holding holding an old phone found in the room, having a totally changed attitude (the minor victim had made several calls to SNAU 112, from the phone found in the defendant’s room), also striking the victim’s categorical refusal to submit to degrading treatment and repeated rapes, with intent, he punched her at least once in the head area and while she was lying on the ground, he strangled her with both hands, thus causing her death,” the data from the file show.
Around 1:00 p.m., after killing Alexandra, Gheorghe Dinića “burned the victim’s body, putting it in the same metal barrel that he had in the yard of his home and that he had also used in the case of the previous victim. Ashes and bone remains were found in this barrel, on the morning of 26.07.2019, at 06:00, during the home search carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Caracal Court”, reports DIICOT.
