Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan married Rajwa Al-Saif today. The lavish ceremony was attended by members of monarchies from around the world, with the guest list including Prince William, Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice.
Members of the British royal family looked delighted as they watched Sandhurst Hussein and Saudi-born Rajwa Al Saif tie their destinies in the garden of Zahran Palace.
The bride wore a white dress by Lebanese designer Elie Saab with a long flower-embroidered train and a sparkling diamond tiara.
King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan watched with pride as their son tied the knot during an Islamic ceremony known as “katb ktab” held in a gazebo and led by Imam of the Hashemite Royal Court Dr Ahmed Al Khalaileh.

Prince William and Kate, present at the event
Kate, who lived briefly in Jordan during her childhood, appeared in a pink lace dress by the same designer, Elie Saab, while Beatrice wore a silver sequined dress by British brand Needle & Thread.
Queen Elizabeth II was honored in an unprecedented way. The newlyweds left the wedding venue for the reception in a 1984 Range Rover, which was specially customized for the British monarch’s visit to the country in 1984.
Immediately after the ceremony, Prince William and Kate spoke briefly with the bride and groom.
The presence of the British royal family was kept secret and confirmed by Jordanian state media only hours before the start of the ceremony at the palace.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have a special relationship with Jordan. The Middletons spent three years there in the early 1980s, when Kate was just two, after her father Michael, a British Airways manager, was moved to Amman for work. The royal couple took their children on holiday there in 2021.
