A 28-year-old man, on Friday evening, in Baia Mare, hit several cars in traffic with a metal pipe, thus destroying the windshield of a special Police vehicle. One of the agents who came to calm him down had to fire a warning shot in the air for the aggressor to stop. He was taken to Sighetu Marmaţiei Psychiatry Hospital, reports News.ro.
The incident took place on Friday evening, when the police in Baia Mare were alerted, by calling 112, by a 38-year-old man from the municipality, about the fact that another man broke his car window and hit the cars in traffic.
The police arrived there and found the one who was behaving aggressively.
“When the police summoned the man in the middle of the street, with a metal pipe in his hand, to throw the pipe and show a civilized behavior, he destroyed the windshield of the police vehicle with the said pipe. Following what happened, one of the police officers fired a vertical warning shot, after which the man was immobilized and taken to the police headquarters for questioning”, the Maramureş County Police Inspectorate reported.
The 28-year-old man from Baia Mare was transported to the Sighetu Marmaţiei Psychiatric Hospital.
The police have opened a criminal case in this case and are continuing investigations for insult, disturbance of public order and peace and destruction.
