Televisions are indispensable in every home. They are a device that most people have come to be unable to live without. It is important, however, to take care of it properly. When it comes to cleaning the screen, it is good to take certain aspects into account, because we risk scratching it and all we have to do is change it.
How to properly clean your TV screen
A simple habit can ruin your TV. Many of us resort to this gesture, not knowing how dangerous it is. Specialists draw attention to this aspect and tell us how we should, in fact, clean the screen of this device that is in every family’s home.
It is very important to use the right methods for cleaning the TV screen, but especially the right solution. For example, we should never use a cloth that is too hard or never spray spray directly on the screen. There are very high chances that the liquid solution will penetrate the device, especially in the case of 4k or curved screens.
“Avoid spraying anything directly onto the screen as excess spray can get inside the TV and damage it,” said Dan Brown, operations director at Bolton-based Mitchell&Brown TVs.
Also, cleaning solutions are not universal. For example, one that fits the TV in the bedroom may be dangerous for the one in the living room. Always read the instructions and make sure you make the right choice. Moreover, avoid solutions containing alcohol, acetone or ammonia.
“Before you start covering your expensive TV with a solution, read the label and make sure it’s adequate. Always avoid putting anything on the TV screen that includes alcohol, ammonia or acetone, chemicals often found in window cleaners,” added the expert.
TV cleaning tricks
Before starting cleaning, turn off the TV and disconnect it from the power source. This will protect you from any electrical hazards and allow you to better see dust and dirt on the screen.
If there are more persistent stains or marks on the screen, you can try applying a small amount of distilled water to the microfiber cloth or towel.
If distilled water is not enough to clean the stains, you can try making a cleaning solution by mixing a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent with distilled water. However, do not apply too much and use only soft cloths.
