The Minister of Labour, Marius Budăi, stated that the Ordinance regarding salary increases for education personnel was discussed with the unions and all their observations were taken. He wanted to assure the teachers that everything that was discussed with the governors was implemented.
Budai declared, on Friday, on Antena 3, that the current coalition, what it said, has done in the issue of education personnel.
“I believe that the current coalition, in this discussion and so far, has done what it said. We have shown with determination that we can and want to keep our word and do what we promise. A week ago, I made it very clear that non-teaching staff, for example, will be at the salary level provided for in the 2022 grid, that is, at the maximum level. Immediately on Friday there was an emergency ordinance. I solved this. It was discussed, the average increases were said, the increase of 1,000 lei and the increase of 400 lei were said. I immediately made the ordinance public and all the unions in education saw it, additions came to the ordinance and I supplemented it with librarians, with psychologists, with social workers, with those who were not on the annex teaching staff or auxiliary teaching staff, I’m talking about Annex 1 of the Payroll Law. So the ordinance was debated at night and the next morning, until the ordinance was presented to the Economic and Social Committee. The ordinance was discussed with the unions and we have taken over all the observations of the unions, the ones specified previously”, stated the Minister of Labor, quoted by News.ro.
He specified that documents were sent to the ministry from the trade unionists in education regarding their requests regarding salary rights.
“Written documents came to the Ministry of Labor, with your requests regarding salary rights. It is a normative act divided into two: we have the ordinance and we have the substantiation note. In the ordinance, salary rights were provided for, so the salary rights that come into force starting yesterday, have already entered into force, the ordinance is published in the Official Gazette and has the number 53 of June 1, they came into force yesterday. The ordinance provides the rights, the explanatory note provides the basis from which we start in the discussions regarding the new salary law. The substantiation note is signed by two ministers, co-initiators, the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Education, a deputy prime minister, i.e. in this case Sorin Grindeanu and two other approving ministers, which are Finance and Justice. We are extremely determined and we respectfully assure the teaching staff that everything that was discussed with us has happened and will continue to happen”, Marius Budăi also declared.
