The waters caused havoc in the mountains, in the resorts of Sinaia and Comarnic. A man was saved at the last moment by the firemen, after he was swept away by the flood at Comarnic.
He would have tried to cross the Prahova river, when he was surprised by the water. And a national road, which connects Sinaia with Târgoviște, was blocked by the flood.
There was a code orange in the area due to torrential rain.
Andreia Ursachi, ISU Prahova: „Up to this point there have been 6 relevant interventions. The most relevant was the case of an 85-year-old man who, unfortunately, was caught by the flood in Comarnic. Our colleagues intervened there in the shortest possible time. The first 3 firefighters from Comarnic arrived there and didn’t wait for colleagues with boats or divers to come, they improvised a system from some ropes and reached the man, they managed to bring him to the shore, they offered him medical care and is out of danger. It was an intervention against the clock.
In the rest, it intervened to clear the water from the roadway. Our colleagues intervened to remove fallen trees, branches and collaborated with local authorities.
From what we know, DN1 is not affected at this time. We talked about DN71, and at the moment there would be no traffic problems, from what information we have received. Traffic was not completely blocked there”.
