These days are not at all happy for Romanian drivers, given that they are going to have to face new price increases at the pump, when they go to fuel their cars, whether they have gasoline or diesel engines.
If you own a car, you should expect to put more money out of your pocket to fuel it from now on. Both the price of gasoline sold in Romania and that of diesel are to be increased because the provisions of a new anti-pollution law are being applied.
According to what is stipulated in the text of the respective normative act, gasoline and diesel will no longer be able to be sold in Romania without necessarily containing biofuels. The proportion to be respected is 8%, in the case of gasoline, and 6.5%, for diesel.
Bad news never comes alone for drivers
In addition to the risk of bearing higher fuel prices, another novelty for drivers is that it is very possible that the provisions of the Highway Code will change, in the sense that you could lose your driving license if you do not pay your fines of circulation within 60 days. This measure is not yet implemented, but is part of a draft law now in Parliament.
“There are tens of millions gathering, especially in the big cities. Let’s eliminate those traffic tricksters who know that no matter how much fine they get, they have no problem and won’t pay.
The local public authority forwards the information to the head of the traffic police, just like when the driver accumulates the 15 points and his driving license is suspended. The mechanism from here on flows in a similar way”, said Laurențiu Leoreanu, the initiator of the draft law.
