Carmen Iohannis attracted all eyes with the splendid outfit worn in Germany
Klaus and Carmen Iohannis were present on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Germany, where the country’s president received the German Civic Award. The ceremony took place at Benrath Castle in Düsseldorf. The head of state was an impeccable appearance, dressed in a dark blue suit, accessorized with a blue tie, but the one who attracted all eyes was, without a doubt, Carmen Iohannis.
The First Lady of Romania wore an elegant outfit with a daring neckline, with exposed shoulders. The pink dress was praised in public, with the wife of the president choosing to accessorize with a diamond necklace and earrings and a white clutch bag.
Carmen Iohannis’ outfit is the creation of Maria Marinescu. It was apparently completed in record time, and the result pleased both women, who will continue to collaborate in the future.
“Maria ended up working for her through a mutual acquaintance. She is the one who proposed this model, and Mrs. Iohannis liked it very much. And it really suits him very well. She was delighted, she tried it. The outfit has to be one to measure, there is no way to create without rehearsal, at such a level.
It’s a dress. Everyone praised her. The time Maria had at her disposal was very short. But from now on, she and the first lady will collaborate for other occasions as well”, write the people from Cancan.
The President, about Romania’s accession to Schengen
In Germany, Iohannis declared that he was honored to receive the German Civic Award, the distinction representing “a recognition of the way in which democracy and civic commitment are manifested today in Romania, as a member state of the European Union and NATO”.
“At the same time, I want to emphasize that I see this award not only as a personal honor. This distinction represents, first of all, a recognition of the way in which democracy and civic commitment are manifested today in Romania, as a member state of the European Union and NATO.
This award thus has a special meaning for me, but especially for the citizens of Romania. Romanians are convinced pro-Europeans, deeply attached to democratic European values, for which, in the past, they made enormous sacrifices. Democracy is a fundamental European value; like the rule of law and human rights, together form the foundation of the European Union and our way of life. (…)
At the same time, Romania showed, once again, that it fully meets the criteria for integration into the Schengen area, managing the external borders with responsibility and efficiency. A decision in favor of Romania’s accession to Schengen this year will represent a very important signal for our citizens, of belonging and trust in the common European project”, emphasized Iohannis.
