The King of the Roma Dorin Ciobă was invited to the reception offered by King Charles III. Thus, Dorin Ciobă did not go to Viscri empty-handed. What a unique gift King Charles received from his “counterpart” Dorin Cioabă during his visit to Romania. The reaction of the British monarch surprised everyone.
What a gift Dorin Ciobă gave to King Charles III. The king of the Roma, invited to the reception given by the British monarch
Dorin Cioabă, the king of the Romanian Roma, attended a reception in Viscri, organized by King Charles III. As is normal, Dorin Ciobă did not go empty-handed to the reception offered by King Charles.
He took a gift to the monarch of Great Britain. The gift brought by Dorin Ciobă consisted of a miniature copper cauldron, a representative thing for the Caldara Roma.
Dorin Ciobă, about the gift given to King Charles
“It is a copper object that represents us. If he invited us to his house, to his house, we could not come empty-handed. We bring him a gift for the king, for the house.
It’s a boiler, something representative of our community of boilermakers and an object that we want them to have in their homes. It is a mini-cauldron for making brandy. We are the greatest craftsmen in such objects and we brought such a gift for him to have at home. It is our international flag. It means blue green, i.e. the grass and the sky, and the wheel is the symbol of nomadism”, said Ciobă.
What did King Ciobă’s wife propose
Dorin Ciobă, who accepted the invitation, revealed that upon entering the village of Viscri, his wife wished to be a neighbor of King Charles and, as a result, she will seek to buy a property in the area.
“I am very honored, very honored and we have wanted for a long time (to meet the king – ed.) because, for us, the Royal Family was a model when it went from the title of bulibaşa to that of king. The Royal House of England was taken as a model. The Queen of England and now King Charles are, so to speak, our leaders because there are many Roma communities in the countries that are administered by them – Scotland, in Ireland, in Australia, in Canada.
Dorin Ciobă saw his dream with his own eyes
This was one of my wishes and I am glad that today I am here, in Viscri, especially since it is with us here, in the country, and in such a beautiful place that we are also discovering now. On this occasion, my wife made a wish at the entrance here: she said I want to become a neighbor of the King and we will also look for a house here, to buy”, said Dorin Ciobă, according to Agerpres.
