Despite good feedback from fans, the stop-motion Marvel series “MODOK” is canceled after just ten episodes.
The MODOK series focuses on the eponymous character, an MCU villain appearing in numerous comics. Available since 2021 on the Hulu and Disney+ streaming platforms, the TV show has been appreciated. It has, in fact, a score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and 3.3/5 on Allociné. Unfortunately, MODOK is going to end after only 10 episodes. The reason: a low number of viewers. A fate similar to the animated series Hit Monkey, launched in November 2021. As for Howard the Duck or even Tigress and Dazzle, they were abandoned even before their release. Much to the disappointment of fans and despite a strong launch with the “What If…?” project, the MCU’s animated universe fell apart before it was even fully built.

Who is MODOK?
The Marvel series is created by Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt (who voices the main character) and follows the story of MODOK, a mobile organism designed only to kill. Hence the acronym of its name: Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. The TV show is humorous and follows the antagonist as he tries to juggle his family life, wanting to save his marriage, while managing his evil organization to control the world.
The MODOK character first appeared in the 1967 comic book Tales of Suspense #94.. In the paper format, he faces among others Captain America, Doctor Doom or the superhero Namor also known as the Prince of the Seas. Viewers saw him on the big screen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania released in 2023. between 2009 and 2012. The TV show MODOK is still available on Disney +.
