“I apologized to the respective persons”, said Ciprian-Titi Stoica, AUR deputy, on Wednesday, for Playtech.ro. The reaction comes after several MPs say they were called at night by the AUR deputy and were threatened by him.
Who are the parliamentarians called by the AUR deputy
Gheorghe Şoldan, PSD deputy and Laura Vicol were called during the night by the AUR deputy.
“Last night, one of our colleagues from the Parliament, Mr. Ciprian Titi Stoica, a colleague from AUR, called several colleagues from the PSD group very late, after one o’clock in the morning, and started cursing us, threatening us , to address us with all kinds of insults.
On the first call, I warned Mr. Ciprian Titi Stoica that I was going to record him, but Mr. Titi Stoica continued. That’s why I would like to publicly summon him that such behavior and language is not worthy of a parliamentarian. I publicly summon him to come to the Parliament’s rostrum to apologize”, stated Gheorghe Şoldan, PSD deputy, according to Agerpres.
For her part, Laura Vicol said that she was called several times with a hidden number.
“From the moment the proposal to sanction those from the AUR arrived at the Judiciary Commission and until tonight, including, I have been called continuously by this deputy. I am a mother of 3 children, I am one year old, and it seems abnormal and immoral for this to happen. Last night, between 1 and 3 in the morning, I was called, with a hidden number.
Corroborated with everything my colleagues said, it is clear that it is about Mr. Titi Stoica. Initially, he called me from his number, but I blocked him, because I refuse to have any kind of communication with him”, said the president of the Legal, Disciplinary and Immunities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania,
The reaction of the AUR deputy
Deputy Titi-Stoica explained to Playtech that these accusations are intended to cover important issues on the public agenda.
“I have apologized to those persons. I have nothing else to comment on. I haven’t committed any crime, it’s nothing. They are trying to cover the situation of yesterday when they violated the fundamental rights to defense and sanctioned us, took us away.
They didn’t want us to watch the pictures together. It’s a pale attempt to shift attention from important topics, such as the serious deed they did yesterday and the teachers’ strike,” the AUR deputy explained to Playtech.ro.
The plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies rejected, on Tuesday, in a secret meeting, the appeals of the deputies AUR Ciprian-Titi Stoica, Ringo Dămureanu, Lilian Scripnic, Alin Coleşa, Sorin-Titus Muncaciu and the non-affiliated deputy Dumitru Coarnă.
The Legal Commission of the Chamber of Deputies decided on May 16 to sanction several AUR deputies with 50% of their allowance, for a period of six months, and to reduce the time at the desk in the Chamber of Deputies, for three months. The sanctions come after the AUR MPs protested aggressively in plenary swearing and shouting at fellow MPs.
- Timiș Deputy Ciprian Titi Stoica is not on the first sanction. Last year, in March, the Legal Commission of the Chamber of Deputies sanctioned him with a warning, after he told the deputy of national minorities, Ovidiu Ganţ, that he was a “Nazi”.
What George Simion says
“From my point of view, as we have shown intransigence every time it was necessary, we will analyze the sanction, the suspension, going up to the exclusion of our colleague. And I hope you do the same.
Yesterday, through a majority vote of this Chamber, you allowed Mr. Coarnă and 5 of my colleagues to speak for only 10 seconds in the plenary, generating some frustrations that sooner or later will repress, unfortunately,” declared George Simion, the leader of AUR.
Who is deputy Titi-Stoica, also nicknamed “Four hands”
Titi Stoica is a high school graduate and has worked as a subway station master, bodyguard, security officer and kitchen helper in London, where he has lived for the past ten years.
He got to the top of the AUR Timiș candidate list thanks to his girlfriend George Simion, co-president of AUR.
Stoica is a fan of the Poli Timișoara football team and stated in an interview for Fanatik that he met George Simion through the lawn, both being members of the ultras phenomenon in the galleries of the football teams, according to the Debanat publication.
In March 2021, deputy Titi Stoica was one of the parliamentarians who voted with two hands in the Parliament in the vote for the state budget.
