American President Joe Biden said Thursday in Washington that a “consensus” will have to be found for the appointment of the next head of NATO and he described the British Minister of Defense, Ben Wallace, a potential candidate, as “very qualified”, notes AFP.
“Perhaps” a Briton could take over the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance, said the American president, in the context in which the mandate of the current Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, ends in October.
“We will have to find a consensus within NATO,” he said alongside British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, according to AFP, quoted by Agerpres.
