Senator Diana Soșoacă again visited the Russian Embassy to celebrate the National Day of Russia with Valeri Kuzmin. “Stop the war, westerners!” she wrote in a Facebook post.
The independent senator made another visit to Putin’s embassy in Bucharest, this time on the occasion of the National Day of Russia, celebrated on June 12.
After taking a picture with the Russian ambassador Valeri Kuzmin, Sosoacă also made a post on his Facebook page, in which he accuses the media of “delusions”.
The senator’s message ended with one of Moscow’s favorite propaganda narratives — that the war in Ukraine is actually going on because of the West, not Russia.
“Come on with the accusations! I invite the press to start the elucidations we are used to! Yes, I went to the Embassy of the Russian Federation today because I was invited on the occasion of the National Day! Stop the war, Westerners! We want peace!”, wrote Sosoacă on his Facebook account.
These days, Diana Șoșoaca gave an interview to a Russian publication in which she claims that Romania is a “colony” in the EU, that Europeans and Americans want the destruction of Russia and that Ukraine illegally owns territories, including some that belong to Romania. In the interview with Eurasia Daily, a publication specialized in geopolitics, Sosoacă takes up several theories of Russian propaganda, including that the Ukrainians would prepare an operation in the separatist region of Transnistria in the Republic of Moldova. There is also the involvement of George Soros in the situation in the region, given that the well-known philanthropist is a target of conspiracy theorists.
According to a post by the Russian Embassy in our country, Valeri Kuzmin mentioned in his speech that “Zelensky’s regime is intensifying terrorist operations in the border area and deep within Russia in desperate attempts to reverse the situation at the front, where the Russian Armed Forces are successfully repelling the widely publicized counter-offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine in autumn, winter and summer and continues to push the Banderovites in a number of directions”.
At the same time, Kuzmin “warned NATO, led by the United States, against a dangerous escalation of the conflict by supplying increasingly deadly weapons and encouraging the Banderovites to commit new heinous crimes against their own people and European security (in the form of attacks on nuclear facilities, the use of “dirty” atomic bombs, dam explosions, etc.)”.
Diana Soșoacă appears with Russian officials and takes pictures with them, every time she has the opportunity.
Last month, Șoșoacă also met with the Russian ambassador to Bucharest, Valeri Kuzmin, at the reception organized by the Russian Embassy on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Allies’ victory against the Axis powers in the Second World War.
The senator was also present in February at a reception hosted by the Russian Embassy, on the occasion of the Russian Diplomat’s Day.
In November 2022, Soșoacă celebrated the Day of the Unity of the Nations of Russia at the embassy, as can be seen from the photos published by the diplomatic mission on Facebook. And in March 2022, the controversial senator, together with three other parliamentarians, met with Valeri Kuzmin in Bucharest, under the conditions in which Russia had invaded Ukraine.
