The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued an ORANGE CODE of rains and storms for several territories in our country. The coming days will be marked by weather phenomena specific to atmospheric instability. Find out in the lines below which weather alerts are currently in force in Romania and when they will expire.
ANM: CODE ORANGE for rain and storms
ANM representatives announced a short time ago that, in the coming days, several territories in the country, especially those in the west, north and center of the country, will be marked by weather phenomena specific to atmospheric instability. However, we do not get rid of rains and storms even in the following hours. Here are the alerts issued by meteorologists from ANM!
At the time of writing, a CODE ORANGE for rain and storms is in effect until Friday, June 9 at 11:00 p.m. Torrential showers will be reported in Caraș-Severin, Timiș, Arad, Bihor, Satu Mare, Maramureș, Sălaj, Cluj counties and the mountain areas of Alba, Bistrița Năsăud, Mureș and Suceava counties.
Locally, water quantities will reach values of up to 40 liters per square meter. In isolation, water quantities will exceed 50 liters per square meter, in short periods of time, from one hour to three hours, according to the announcement made by meteorologists.
As we have already stated, the weather will remain unstable in the coming days as well. The regions most affected by meteorological phenomena specific to this state will be those in the west, north, center, as well as the mountain areas. Even on Saturday, June 10, the weather will not calm down. It’s a CODE YELLOW this weekend.
CODE YELLOW atmospheric instability
ANM issued, on Friday, June 9, a CODE YELLOW of atmospheric instability that remains in force until Saturday, June 10, at 10:00. In the mentioned time interval, several areas in Romania will be marked by meteorological phenomena specific to the accentuated atmospheric instability.
As shown by the map that can be viewed in the PHOTO gallery of this material, until Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m., in Banat, Crișana, Maramureș, most of Transylvania and northwestern Moldova there will be periods of increased atmospheric instability. Torrential showers will be reported, accompanied by electrical discharges and, isolated, hail.
Also in the mentioned regions, rain and wind will give rise to storms. The intensification of wind gusts will, however, be short-lived.
In short periods of time, water quantities will reach values of around 25 liters per square meter. In isolation, amounts of water over 30 liters per square meter will also be reported.
