News culture “Looks like they’re not a fan of me…” Chris Hemsworth (Thor) saddened by these two movie legends’ criticisms of Marvel movies
Chris Hemsworth is best known for his roles in blockbusters and very clearly, playing the character of Thor within the MCU has propelled him to the top. However, it’s not to everyone’s taste in Hollywood.
Heated debate
Martin Scorsese is a true living legend of the Seventh Art and one thing is certain, he does not mince his words. In particular, he launched a virulent debate in 2019, telling the New York Times that superhero movies weren’t real cinema and calling this category an amusement park. Something that did not really please all the worshipers of the MCU, but also the many actors and actresses within it (and God knows that there are also good actors and actresses).
And even, it was without counting on Quentin Tarantino, another paramount and ultra-respected figure in the industry, who outbid just last year: according to him, the actors at Marvel would not be movie stars. Too bad, Samuel L. Jackson, aka Nick Fury, being yet one of his favorite stars. Perhaps the exception that proves its rule, you never know.

Thor et factions
Necessarily, Chris Hemworth, famous interpreter of Thor, was not going to appreciate these different remarks. Or at the very least, he seems a little offended while having a deep respect for the two directors, as we can see during an interview with GQ:

It’s always very depressing to hear that. Well, I couldn’t work with two of my heroes, it looks like they’re not fans of me.
I’m grateful to have been part of something that kept audiences in theaters. Afterwards, I don’t know if these films have harmed other films. In any case, I don’t like it when we start attacking each other, when there is already so much fragility in this industry.
Besides, I’m not specifically addressing the directors who made these comments. They are both still my heroes and I would definitely jump at the chance to work with them. I say it rather in relation to the general discourse on this subject.
Chris Hemworth should nevertheless find his role of Thor soon in the MCU, which has stuck with him for twelve years already.
