Not a week goes by without a scandal in the British royal family. Most of them happen even between family members, but this time, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were offended as if at the tent door by another person: “Scammers!”.
Harry and Meghan Markle, involved in a new scandal. Who is scamming the Dukes of Sussex
British royal family is in for a new scandal after Spotify’s CEO publicly disses Harry and Meghan Markle.
Thus, Bill Simmons launched a harsh attack on the Dukes of Sussex, in which he categorizes them as “crooks”. It should be noted that the partnership between them ended the other day.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have split from the streaming platform
Bill Simmons called Prince Harry and Meghan Markle scammers a day after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex split from the streaming platform.
Spotify’s chief is criticizing the royal couple after they ended their contract with the streaming platform following an unproductive production deal.
Also last week on Thursday, the Dukes of Sussex and Spotify announced that their multi-year podcast deal had ended, apparently prematurely. The production deal, initialed in 2020, worth about $20 million, resulted in a single 12-episode podcast series.
What happened during the partnership
Even though the partnership between Archewell Audio, the production company of the Dukes of Sussex, and Spotify should have had more programs, only one series and a special holiday edition was produced.
“The F**king Grifters (wretched crooks – ed.). This is the podcast we should have launched with them. I have to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom chat I had with Harry to try to help him with a podcast idea. It is one of my best stories… To hell with them, scammers”, a declarat Bill Simmons.
Spotify, strategic restructuring
Last but not least, about two weeks after Spotify reported that it was cutting 200 jobs from its podcast unit, which equates to 2% of its workforce global, as part of a “strategic restructuring”, there was also the announcement according to which Archewell Audio and Spotify have “mutually agreed to separate”.
