The Romanian coastline, except for certain aspects, is one of the most visited, especially by Romanians. But, recent years have also brought a considerable number of foreign tourists, and investments in the resorts have also grown considerably. Among the most sought after and visited beaches, there is also the beach with the finest sand, but it is not located in Constanța county. So, let’s see which beach in Romania has the finest sand.
On the way to the beach in Romania that has the finest sand
Romania has spectacular places, and not a few times even the author of this article emphasized this aspect. Among the many such places is the beach in Romania with the finest sand, but to our surprise and that of many, it is not in the group of beaches found on the coast, on the Black Sea.
So, we decided to see this with our own eyes and set off for the beach in Romania that has the finest sand. We remind you that the road can sometimes be difficult and annoying, especially in the summer season when many Romanians take the path to the coast.

But, we set off on the 445 kilometers to our destination, which is in Tulcea county, and we did about 7 hours on the road. A bit much we say, but in the end it was worth it. As I said, the destination is in Tulcea County, so we entered the A2 and continued on our way, and near the town of Dragalina, we turned left onto the road that leads to the city and Tulcea County.

On the way, we made two stops, in Brăila and Galați, where we also visited the pontoon on the Danube, it was impossible to miss this opportunity. From here to Tulcea was a stone’s throw, and from Tulcea to the beach in Romania, which has the finest sand, even less.
Welcome to Sulina!
Concretely, from Tulcea to Sulina, which is the locality we are talking about, there were 66 kilometers. But, you have only one option available from Tulcea Port to Sulina, namely the ferry on the Danube or the fast boats, and the route is on the Sulina arm.
To the destination you will pass by ferry through Partizani, Vulturu and Maliuc, a spit of land in the middle of the Danube, where one of the oldest hotels, built from the time of Ceaușescu, is located, and where there are only two cars.

Then you pass Gorgova, Crișan and reach your final destination, Sulina. The journey here takes about an hour by fast boats departing from the Danube embankment, every two hours every day, and you will be out of pocket about 15 euros per person.
But, once we arrive in Sulina, as we actually intended, we will discover the beach in Romania with the finest sand. In addition to the fine sand, Sulina beach is also one of the few wild beaches left in this ecosystem, and the town stretches along the banks of the Danube, with most of its habitat on the right bank.
