Employees who support children up to 8 years old can benefit from telework four days a month, according to a draft law to supplement the Labor Code. The project was adopted unanimously by the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday.
The draft law aims to regulate the completion of Law no. 53/2003 (Labour Code) with a new article, in the sense that employees who have dependent children up to 8 years of age can benefit, on request, from 4 days per month work at home or telework, with except for situations in which the nature or type of work does not allow the activity to be carried out under such conditions.
“Upon request, employees who have dependent children up to 11 years of age benefit from 4 days per month of work at home or telework, under the conditions of Law no. 81/2018 on the regulation of telework activity, with subsequent amendments and additions, except for situations where the nature or type of work does not allow the activity to be carried out under such conditions”, provides an amendment of the Commission for Labor and Social Protection.
The draft law was adopted by the Senate, as the first referred Chamber, in the meeting of May 30, 2023.
