A 19-year-old young man is under criminal investigation, after he was caught by the gendarmes while walking through a children’s playground in Drobeta Turnu Severin with a machete and a knife.
“Young man caught with white weapons on him while walking through a playground. The joint police-gendarme patrol noticed, in the area of some playgrounds in Drobeta Turnu Severin, a young man who had a machete about one meter long. He was summoned and mobilized, later being taken to the police headquarters for further investigations”, the Romanian Gendarmerie reported on Tuesday.
Following the checks, a knife with a blade of approximately 30 cm was found on the 19-year-old.
“The young man told the law enforcement officers that he ordered the machete from the Internet for his own collection, and he used the knife to open the package he had previously picked up from a delivery station,” the Gendarmerie states.
The young man is now being investigated for the possession or unauthorized use of dangerous objects.
