A ‘Barbenheimer’ trailer combines Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Margot Robbie’s Barbie in an epic AI-powered blockbuster.
A “Barbenheimer” trailer combines Oppenheimer and Barbie into one movie. The two hottest movies of the summer hit theaters on the same day, a phenomenon that has been dubbed “Barbenheimer” and has led to many memes, mash-ups, and other fan art. The juxtaposition is jarring, because the two films couldn’t be more different. Oppenheimer tells the story of the creation of the atomic bomb, and Barbie is a satirical comedy based on the beloved doll. However, their release date on the same day will bond them forever.
A real Barbenheimer movie would really catch on
Ahead of the box office battle between Barbie and Oppenheimer, YouTube’s Curious Refuge has shared a “Barbenheimer” trailer that combines the two films into one epic AI blockbuster.
The “Barbenheimer” trailer combines the casts and plot of both films while providing a cohesive story and functional visuals.
Although Barbie and Oppenheimer are drastically different, the “Barbenheimer” trailer is a surprisingly cool combination of the two films. The trailer opens with the lieutenant general, played by Matt Damon, and Leslie Groves, director of the Manhattan Project, recruiting Barbie to build an atomic bomb before the Nazis do. Just like the Greta Gerwig movie Barbies have a wide range of occupations, the scientist Barbie is also a flight attendant, an astronaut, a Marine Corps doctor, a paleontologist, a veterinarian.
Mirroring a moment from the actual Barbie trailer, Ryan Gosling’s Ken appears in the “Barbenheimer” trailer and asks to come to Barbie’s secret lab. As Barbie watches the weapon she created, she says “I have become death, destroyer of worlds”, which is a piece of Hindu scripture that J. Robert Oppenheimer quoted after witnessing the Trinity nuclear test.
While Barbie and Oppenheimer are drastically different movies, the trailer for “Barbenheimer” gets them and combines them quite well.
