Marius Lăcătuș is upset that CSA Steaua does not have the right to promotion in the Romanian SuperLiga for the third year in a row. “The Beast” has always supported this project, but he is tired of empty words and wants to know what is the plan of the leaders of this club. The former international wants the situation to be clarified as quickly as possible.
Marius Lăcătuș attacks the leaders of CSA Steaua
CSA Steaua started the championship in the second league, but does not have the right to promotion this season either. The leaders of the club failed to transform this grouping into a private law entity, the public law ones not having the right to play in the Romanian SuperLiga. CSA Steaua fans hoped that things would be resolved following negotiations with several investors, but the Romanian Football Federation made it clear that the rules cannot be changed during the game. The championship started on Tuesday for CSA Steaua, who played away to Târgoviște.
Marius Lăcătuș has supported this project from the beginning, along with Victor Pițurcă, Gabi Balint, Ștefan Iovan and Tudorel Stoica, but he does not understand why things are slowing down.
“I speak personally, everyone has their own idea, everyone has their own thoughts. I say what I think. I’m not the type of person to go to the club or call the commander, intervene somewhere.
I said that it is necessary for those from the management of the club and the Ministry to at least give an explanation, why the association with a private company is not successful, so that this team has the right to promotion.
If no one comes out, we can only give our opinion. I have no idea what they are thinking. Of course, all of us who are with the club and want the team to have the right to promotion and to play in League 1 are like that… with divided thoughts”, thundered Marius Lăcătuș.
“Let them say publicly what they’re up to with this team”
The former striker of the team that won the Champions Cup in 1986 wants those who run the club to explain the situation. Vasile Dîncu said that the situation could be solved very simply through an association with ROMTEHNICA, an export-import department, within the Ministry of National Defense.
“I thought they would find the best option for the team to have the right to promotion. It seems that this variant was not found. Why they didn’t go further, only they know. Once again, I think it would be a good idea for someone to come forward and say publicly what they are up to with this team.
If someone hears it, fine, if not, fine. For us, the most important thing is that this team exists, even if it is in the second league. I am with the club, with this team. Regardless of what happens, I will stay with this team”, said Marius Lăcătuș, at Digi Sport.
CSA Steaua has only two doors for things to change until the end of the season: a change to the Sports Law or an amendment to the licensing manual.
