As those from Impact wrote, at the beginning of this year, the politician and friend of the former PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea, Codrin Ștefănescu, was facing a serious illness. After more than five months, new details about the state of health of Codrin Ștefănescu appeared, which show what is happening now with the politician.
Why did he retire from politics?
In March of this year, the Impact editorial office wrote about the situation of Codrin Ștefănescu, after information appeared about the break in friendship between him and Liviu Dragnea, or as Ștefănescu called him, “a little monster, a scorpion that stung me with a lot of cynicism”.
Although relatively young, only 54 years old, Codrin Ștefănescu has serious health problems, and the diagnosis was given by doctors in Switzerland, after carrying out a complete set of analyses, but the politician did not reveal what this diagnosis would be.

However, the mentioned publication said that the former politician was retiring from politics precisely because of these health problems.
“I fight to the end, in my own way, personally, with the lady with the scythe! That’s all the world needs to know. It’s something personal, about which you imagine I don’t like to give details.
But I can assure you all that I will fight hard to the end! I won’t go into details because I haven’t told anyone, not even my closest family members!
In this battle, everyone hopes, at least at some point, that they will be able to win! So I have my hopes too!”, said Codrin Ștefănescu, according to Impact.ro.
New details about the state of health of Codrin Ștefănescu
Although it seems that the disease is a serious one, Codrin Ștefănescu does not hesitate to joke about this topic, he recently declared to the people from Cancan that “I thought I would have the final meeting with the lady with the scythe!”.
This time too, he did not give any details about the illness he suffers from, although he hopes to return to Romanian political life at the end of this summer, but he says that he is still fighting for his chance at life:
“I’m still fighting for my life! They do it literally, with an invisible and very cruel enemy. Really parsimonious, often! It is not for nothing that 97.5% of those who fight this disease lose the battle!
I prefer to try to take the example of Monica Pop who went through just under five operations in her fight with this terrible disease!
That is, to try to be part of that very small percentage of winners”, declared Codrin Ștefănescu, according to Cancan.

What is happening now with the politician
In the same interview, the politician explained what is happening these days with him, saying that “I ask everyone to believe me that I am not exaggerating”:
“I don’t even want my enemies to go through what I went through in these months of 2023. I ask everyone to believe me that I’m not exaggerating. Even the most skeptical, because when you lose your favorable state of health, you see life completely differently.
And I say this while the world knows that I avoid giving details about my illness or its evolution. However, in recent months I have had the feeling several times that I see or feel a creepy presence, a female presence with a hood pulled over her face and a scythe in her hand.
It’s horrifying, I tell you in all honesty. There were moments when I actually thought I would have such a final meeting, with the lady with the scythe”, says the former politician.

Although he says that he is not the man to beat himself up, and that he does not know what the final verdict will be, the politician still hopes for a solution to the situation and that he will return, as soon as possible, to politics.
