Saint Mary is celebrated every year on August 15. This year, this day falls on a Tuesday, a public holiday. Also, the Government decided that August 14 should also be free in order to make a “bridge” between the weekend and the day of the religious holiday.
Those who want to go shopping on August 15, when Saint Mary the Great is celebrated, must consult the operating hours of the stores, as some units may have special operating hours.
What are the opening hours of Lidl, Kaufland, Carrefour, Cora or Profi de Sfânta Maria 2023
This year, the schedule of the largest supermarkets in Romania remains unchanged, the timetable being that of a normal day. Major chain stores have not announced any general changes. However, slight changes may occur depending on the area where the store is located.
Lidl, for example, will most likely be operating after normal opening hours. Therefore, Romanians can shop at Lidl on August 15 between 07:00 and 22:00. Kaufland has also not announced a special Saint Mary’s program.
Carrefour’s schedule will be the usual one on August 15, according to the information provided by the representatives of the store chain, and customers will be able to shop between 08:00 and 23:00.

Therefore, for certain categories of public sector employees, the weekend of August 12 and 13 will be extended by two more days off, August 14 and 15, 2023.
