The heat wave is wreaking havoc in Romania. Extremely high temperatures still persist on the territory of our country and the situation is as difficult as possible. In some areas of the country, temperatures reach almost 40 degrees even towards the end of the day. Where surprising values were recorded today.

Romania was covered by a dome of fire today, when temperatures were extremely high in most regions. It was extremely hot all over the country, and thermometers indicated over 40 degrees in the sun in many areas.
In some localities, temperatures reach almost 40 degrees even in the evening, when it should be cooler. Meteorologists announced that the air was unbreathable, and the thermometers indicated almost 40 degrees even at 18.00.
According to the chart, the highest temperature was 38 degrees in the shade in Iasi, but also 37 in areas such as Filaret or Vaslui. The differences were extremely large in areas with tree shade, a sign that their lack is a real problem.
When we get rid of the heat wave
According to forecasters, hot weather conditions will continue throughout the country at the beginning of this week, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius during the rest of the days.
Afterwards, the temperature will start to drop gradually, and at the same time there will be periods of increased atmospheric instability. In Oltenia and Muntenia, the heatwave persists on August 29, but by September 1 it will cool down considerably.
In Dobrogea, temperatures drop to 30-32 degrees until September 1. In the region of Moldova, the start of the cooling process is scheduled for the same date, namely August 30. According to estimates, towards the end of the first forecast week, i.e. between September 1 and 2, the average temperature will be around 25-26 degrees Celsius.
In the Maramureș area, between August 28-29, periods of heatwave and an increased level of thermal discomfort are expected. Later, towards the end of the first forecast week (September 1-2), the average temperature is expected to drop to around 25 degrees Celsius. The average daily values will be close to the normal for the period and will generally be 27-28 degrees.
In Banat, Crisana and Transylvania, the weather cools down after September 3 and the values reach the normal ones for this period.
