The judges at the Bucharest Court set the first term in the court file of Alexandru Cumpănașu, the uncle of the teenager kidnapped in Caracal. Find out in the lines below when the man will be judged for the acts he is accused of by the DNA prosecutors.
Who is Alexandru Cumpanasu?
In 2018, the Association for the Implementation of Democracy, headed by Alexandru Cumpănașu, received 1 million lei from the Romanian Government to make brochures with various texts, copied from Wikipedia or from the page of the Romanian Gendarmerie.
From the amount of 1 million lei, Alexandru Cumpanașu received a little over 837 thousand lei for copyrights and other related payments, according to the investigations made by journalists and exposed in the press a few years ago. It is not the only problem raised in the case of Alexandra Maceșanu’s uncle.
Alexandru Cumpănașu became known in the public space in 2019, after the kidnapping of his niece. At the time, the man made numerous accusations against the authorities and the system, outraged by the fact that no one was able to solve the case of the teenage girl from Caracal.
Time has passed, and Alexandra Măceșanu’s uncle seems to have taken advantage of the popularity gained to launch himself in the online environment. On social platforms, the man comments on various topics, including the war in Ukraine, the coronavirus pandemic or rising prices.
When will the first court date be?
More than a year ago, Alexandru Cumpănașu shocked Romania through the materials he posted on the TikTok platform, in which he talked about the intimate relationships he allegedly had with several women, some of them even becoming directors of schools, but also about his first sexual experience.
Recently, Alexandru Cumpănașu came to public attention again. It happened after he was sent to court by DNA prosecutors for the presentation in bad faith of false, inaccurate or incomplete documents or statements, being accused of being employed as an IT expert for the implementation of a government project with European funds , falsely signing that he has higher education.
Based on the steps taken, Alexandru Cumpanașu would have collected, according to the prosecutors, over 200 thousand lei, the money being obtained unjustly. The judges at the Bucharest Court also set the first deadline in the man’s court file: September 22, 2023.
It would not be the first false statements that Alexandru Cumpanașu would make, according to some voices. The man declared some time ago that he is a specialist in foreign policy, being also qualified as a historian. He claimed that he has 20 years of experience in the diplomatic environment and in international security.
