For more than a year, the Xbox interface of several Insiders members has included two new badges on a black background on the game tiles. Today, this feature has been extended to all players and you may be wondering what this is all about.
The meaning of the new badges!
There is no need to worry here. These are simply logos to know if you are able to play a game installed on the console. Indeed, one of the two is illustrated by a CD with a warning triangle next to it. This simply indicates that it’s a game that was installed via CD, but is currently not in the console’s drive. However, if you insert it, the logo will disappear.
The second badge is represented by a warning triangle alone. This happens when a game is installed, but you don’t own the license or it is no longer included in Xbox Game Pass. This is a good indicator for sorting through installed games.
The image above shared by Eden Marie, engineer at Xbox, provides an overview of the visual appearance of these logos.
